If you’re eager to get started on filing your 2025 tax returns, the majority of online tax filing services and will allow you to start preparing your tax filings already. The federal tax filing deadline is April 15, 2025, but Florida taxpayers affected by Hurricanes Milton, Helene and Debby have until May 1, 2025. Taxpayers can request a six-month extension to file their taxes, pushing the deadline to October 15, 2025.

Those who need to submit a self assessment must do so by 31 January, but the process can sometimes be confusing.
