The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is expected to launch a crewed spacecraft for lunar exploration as early as the first week of February, BBC reported. This will mark the first crewed lunar launch in 50 years,

There will be a live NASA broadcast of the Artemis II launch attempt in the Justice Planetarium, hands-on experiences, concessions, and dining throughout the event, family-friendly activities, and a special presentation by John Mulnix, NASA Solar System Ambassador, titled “Countdown to Artemis II.”

The launch is set to occur no earlier than 12:42 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12 from Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. The mission will be a Falcon 9 rocket sending the company's next batch of 29 Starlink internet satellites to orbit.

Normally SpaceX uses Kennedy Space Center’s Launch Pad 39-A for its Crew Dragon flights, but did use SLC-40 once for Crew-9 in 2024. All four of SpaceX’s 2025 human spaceflights were from KSC.
