Chief Meteorologist Lisa Teachman says a harsh blast of bitterly cold air will drop temps below freezing for days, combining with a snowy system late this week into the weekend.

The massive winter storm set to begin tomorrow will stretch 2,000 miles across the country, from the Arizona-New Mexico border to upstate New York.

"In portions of the Northeast, this could end up being the biggest storm of the winter so far," wrote AccuWeather senior meteorologist Alex Sosnowski in a forecast report.
